Ågeta R3 - A ripple in time

(Documentary film, 35min)
A collaboration with the National Museum of Science and Technology in Sweden.

Is nuclear power a cultural heritage? Is it the small, beautiful, and simple, or also the big, ugly, and dangerous that is placed as cultural heritage? The Ågesta R3 was the first nuclear power plant in Sweden operating between 1964 and 1974 that was built to produce both heat and electricity. It is now being dismantled according to the Swedish nuclear industry practices for the clearance of material, rooms, buildings, and soil by the Swedish Nuclear Activities Act and the Swedish Radiation Protection Act.

Through in-depth interviews and poetic storytelling, the film explores some of the existential questions surrounding nuclear power, a journey into the political, social, and economic role of nuclear power in today's rapidly changing energy system.

The film is being screened at the National Museum of Science and Technology in Sweden during 2023-03-16 to 2024-03-15.
